This pregnancy has been a roller coaster. We've surely had more ups than downs, but nothing has remained static. When I went back to the doctor a week ago, the baby had turned again and was back in breech position. This was something I really thought we had left behind us, but here we were again dealing with the "what to do with a breech baby?" question. I had a follow-up appointment at the hospital this past Tuesday, still with a breech baby. We made and action plan and I (finally) left. As of yesterday (Friday) baby is back to starting position. I can now obsess about the possibility that Baby will turn yet again.
The current plan is that I will not be allowed to go over 40 weeks, which is November 9th according to my records (really November 10th if we want to get picky, but I don't think the doctors will grace me with one more day). I will be cut off at 40 weeks because of the gestational diabetes - which seems to have gotten much better recently. As long as baby is still head down then I will be induced on November 9th, if not I'll have to have a c-section. If I go into labor before 40 weeks (please, please, please) and the baby is head down - great! If the baby is again breech and the attending at the time is on board, we're going to try a natural birth. This baby is much smaller than Blaise at about 6.4lbs as opposed to over 9lbs, so the doctors feel there shouldn't be a problem getting out. Still hopin' to get this baby moving before 40 weeks and in the right position!
On a positive note, the baby looked healthy, which in the end is all that really matters.

Chicken Farm
A few weeks ago we went to dinner at a chicken farm (this is a fairly loose translation) for Andrea's birthday. It was the last time we were out to dinner with Willi and he actually had a good appetite and enjoyed his time with the whole family. Blaise really enjoyed looking at the chickens and spent his non-eating time running around outside with anyone who would go with him.

I love Halloween
Lynn and Rose attended a (super cute!) Halloween themed 1st Birthday party last weekend. I was graced with this picture of Robert M. Knight and his referee. Wish we could have been there - sounded like a beautifully planned fall weekend.
Pregnancy Update
I am 37 weeks today - officially full term!! Still three weeks until my due date (although I am having a hard time believing that it is ONLY three weeks).
I had an appointment this morning with my diabetic doctor and he said everything looks good. My sugar numbers and blood work were good. I go back in two weeks and then three months after birth. Thursday is my next check-up with my doctor.
My Mom gets here next Monday in order to help us with Blaise and the transition to a 4 person family. We have a back-up plan in case I happen to be in labor when she arrives - Jen's husband Martin would pick her up.
I can't believe I only have a few more weeks of Blaise as an only child. I know this baby is going to love him so much. It is going to be fun watching Blaise fall in the love with the baby.

Could we BEEEE any more stupid?
I spent a lot of time debating "more stupid" vs. "stupider". I settled for"more stupid", but I'm not really convinced. There are only two syllables, and I think the rule is three or more constitute using more/most for the comparison/superlative: e.g. important, expensive, intelligent, etc. Thoughts?
Anyway, here is my stupidness story:
Blaise had been sleeping anywhere from 12-14 hours at night - really closer to 14 than 12. Starting last week he all of a sudden starting getting up everyday after <= 12 hours of sleep. The biggest problem was that all this getting up was happening around 6ish instead of our more comfortable (see 3+ syllables) 7:30ish. One day we even heard him at 4:45!!
Wondering where all this getting up early was coming from??
THERE WAS AN ALARM IN HIS ROOM GOING OFF AT 6:00 ALL WEEK!!!!!!
We rectified the situation and there has been an improvement. Seriously, ever heard of anything so stupid??

Check it out
Don't forget to check out the lastest From All Corners post! "October" was my choice of theme and I had a hard time picking a picture - not because all of mine were so good, but because I didn't really think I captured every angle of what I wanted to say. Remember last year when I was mourning fall? Well, I've really tried to appreciate the season even more this year. The picture I had in my head that I would have loved to have the opportunity to capture was of the Red Barn on IN State Road 46 heading east to Brown County from Bloomington. You come up the hill and the pretty Red Barn is on your right and you look out over a beautiful fall spectacle. I tried to find a picture online to share with you non-Hoosiers, but surprisingly, I couldn't find one. :( Anyone have one??

Saying Goodbye
We will be saying good-bye to Jan's step-father, Willi, next Thursday. He passed away Wednesday morning after battling cancer. He was an avid antique postcard collector and loved playing with Adrian and Blaise. Here is a picture from this summer during the Soccer World Cup.
