Kids Say the Darndest Things
I got this as a forward from Carrie's mom recently. I normally don't even read forwards (sorry) but when I saw it was about kids I thought I'd check it out...it is hilarious!! What's your favorite? I liked the little boy saying the "Our Father"! :)

Family Fun in Seifersbach
Jan has a fairly large family on his mother's side. It is always very international around our house partially because his family is czech. Of the three currently living generations, the oldest two include 12 people - of those 12, 11 are women!! Jan is the only male in those two generations, and he is the youngest. With all those women, you can imagine how chaotic some family get-togethers can be! :) We had a nice time last weekend celebrating his cousin, Jana's 50th birthday. A large majority of the family drove out to their farm for the big bash. She lives about 4 hours away in former East Germany. We stayed with the neighbors who have a little guest house. It was our first mini-trip with Blaise and all things considered, it went well. We even decided to use the cloth diapers while away and I'm so glad we did - that was the easiest thing we did all weekend!
Blaise in his carseat on the way - he was great in the car!
Jana dug out many old toys from her grown son for Adrian to play with - he loved being Knight Adrian!

The matriarch of the family, Jan's eldest aunt, Jitka. Of Noemi's 3 sisters, she is the only one who still lives near Prague. We love visiting her! She is so sweet and she reminds me of my maternal slovak Grandma even if I can't understand what she is saying. She loves to cook and loves to eat even more!

Cloth Diaper Collection 1.1
Blaise is modeling "Baby Blue"
In honor of Earth Day, another fluffy butt picture :) We began cloth diapering full time about a month ago. It has been a lot of fun and it's easier than I thought it would be. It borders on obsession, it's so fun. Everyone asks about the laundering, but honestly it isn't difficult. I am keeping track of how many diapers we use so hopefully I can make a fair cost comparison to using disposables. Either way, it's a great feeling knowing that we aren't contributing 2+ years of diapers to the landfills!

Blaise Stats
We saw the doctor today for Blaise's 4th official check-up. He weighs in at 14lbs and 4.8oz (6.5kg) and is 25.2in (64cm). He is doing great and is gaining weight as expected. I love going to the doctor and hearing how much weight he has gained! It is amazing for me to think that the weight and length he is gaining is attributed to breastfeeding. I feel very lucky that breastfeeding worked for us after him being in the hospital at the beginning since it was so important to me. It isn't always easy, but definitely worth it!

Cousin Kimmy moves to Germany!
My cousin Kim has visited us quite often in the past few years. It has been great to introduce her to Mainz and the area we live in. She loves to travel and one of the great things about being in Germany is the central location within Europe - you can be everywhere "relatively" quickly. Don't let me mislead you though, places can be farther away than you think.
Kim has now taken a civilian position with the military and has moved to Germany! She'll be living in Bavaria, southeastern Germany, about 3 hours by car away from us. It is going to be wonderful having part of my family in the area as well. We're already planning our holidays! On her initial trip over she had a day layover in Frankfurt so we spent Saturday walking around the market, drinking coffee and relaxing in the park. She was also the first of my family, after my parents, to meet Blaise. See you next weekend, Kim! :)
